The Maize traders in Namayingo district, are stranded with their tones of maize after Kenya banned the importation of Maize from Uganda and Tanzania, nothing that there had been an acute increase in chronic aflatoxin related illnesses.
According to reports indicate that, Uganda exports at least 80% percent of its maize to Kenya accumulative average of 330,620 tones per year.
While speaking to Mr Mutyabule Jamiru, the Vice chairperson Namayingo business community said the ban on maize has affected them so much with no market and they want to take back their children to school. In addition Mr Mutyabule asked the government to construct for them a produce market
