Kibuku: Butcher operators go on strike over increased taxes

Butcher operators in Kadama town council Kibuku district have gone on strike against the increment of taxes on animals.

Butcher owners in have decided to close their Butchers saying the town council leadership have increase taxes from 20,000/= to 30,000/= per animal slaughtered

They say that the authority has increased the dues without consulting them and yet they pay trading license

Pande Samuel the town clerk Kadama town council said that the charges were imposed to widen the tax base of the town council and render services to the public.
