Youths in Busia District have raised their concern about the fake available hand sanitizers which most people are using claiming to be helping them on the prevention of the corona virus which cause COVID-19 Pandemic.

According to Odwori Victor the chairperson youths in Majanji sub county in Busia  district, says that some hand sanitizers which are on market are fake and do not meant the minimum alcoholic content of 70% above as recommended by the health personnel , so these may be very dangerous to human lives.

While speaking to the spokes person National Drug Authority, Fredrick Ssekyana also confirmed to us that there are  continued samples and tested hand sanitizers on market in light of corona virus which cause COVID-19, they are fake and  not on standards and are  potentially harmful products to the masses.

He also added that they have tested a round 40 different types of hand sanitizers and only 20 types so far passed the quality testing parameters according to Uganda standards and these are; saraya, Humarub, med-gel, Rene hand sanitizer 500ml, Rena hand-60ml, Amour, B-safe, shafranto, covanil-450ml, covanvil-100ml, kakira-5ml, kakira-20l among others
