The different youths electoral colleges have started to assemble in selected places in the four regions across the country to elect their representatives to the 11th Parliament.
The regional conferences for election of regional youths representatives to parliament are to take place at Mubende National Teachers College (NTC) in Mubende district for the central region and Mbale Secondary School in Mbale district for the eastern region.
A total of 2200 delegates are gathered to take part in the exercise at Mbale SS.
In the western region, the regional conference is to take place at Ntare School in Mbarara while the one for Northern Uganda will take place in Gulu.
This is the second last voting exercise to conclude this year’s general election. The last voting for sub-county/town/municipal division chairpersons and councilors will take place on Wednesday.
The youths are one of the special interest groups supposed to have representatives in parliament. The others are workers, persons with disabilities and the army.
The youths are accorded five slots in Parliament, including four who are elected on regional basis and one national female youth MP.
The election for the national female youths representative to Parliament was held on January 22, at Mvara secondary school in Arua district
