The Uganda Youth Democrats (UYD), want government to lift the curfew hours because the country badly needs prayers in its current situation and the holy month of Ramadan, being one of prayers, Ugandans should make use if the 30 days.
Though government has already explained why it cannot lift the activities during the month of Ramadan, UYD insist that this is not fair and this position must be revisited.
Ismail Kirya, the UYD president says that government is failing to understand the cause of Muslims when they ask for the relaxing of the curfew hours to enable them smoothly exercise all the Ramadan practices.
Kirya cites the taraweeh prayers that are usually conducted during night from around 8pm to 9.30pm reciting the holy book of Quran by Sheiks during the holy month
