The Uganda Local Government Association has urged all local Government leaders to take a tough stand against corruption and design strategies on how to combat the vice that is frustrating service delivery.
In a statement issued to commemorate the Ant-corruption day today, the Association says that corruption is making it hard for local Governments that must be at the centre of service delivery to achieve the set goals.
The Association president also Kabarole district Richard Rwabuhinga while addressing media at the Uganda Media Centre said, unless corruption is eliminated at local Government level, improved service delivery and development may not be achieved.
Uganda joins the rest of the world to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day and today’s celebrations will be held at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in Kampala.
President Museveni is expected to the chief guest.
