Some opposition MPs have condemned the act of placing charges of treason against Lt Gen Henry Tumukunde a few weeks after him declaring his intentions to stand for presidency in the fourth coming elections 2020.
Gulu Municipality MP Lyandro komaketch says this is a bad indicator for Uganda’s democratization process, yet the bush struggle was to usher in genuine democracy.
Masaka municipality mp Mathias Mpuga says this is not the first time the state is framing people who come out to oppose it.
However Bukoto mid-west MP Kasozi Muyomba says the court process should be allowed to go on and prove whether the general is guilty or not.
