At least 40 families at Dolwe landing site, Dolwe sub county, Bukhooli island in Namayingo district, are homeless after a storm ravaged their homes and destroyed crops, fishing gears and animals, worth 800millions.
The Sunday afternoon Storm also left three fishermen died after they were hit by the collapsing wall. The deceased were also known as Kanzibu Kapol 40yrs, pastor Ojiambo 25yrs and Wanyama 28yrs.
In an interview with Dolwe sub county chairperson Mr John Bosco Nyembeza, he confirmed and asked the residents who are in 200 meters from the lake, to leave earlier, in order to secure their life. He added that, crocodiles is more likely to attack them due to high water which is flooding from the lake. So therefore he urged the government to provide them more water cages.
