The reigning Miss Africa Golden Aleper Pamela on Monday morning welcomed the CEO of the Miss Africa Golden organization, Nollywood actress and Nigerian entrepreneur Sapphire OBi together with Toni Olamide Alabi, a renown African catwalk instructor.
The two jetted into the country at about 1:00 AM and were recieved by Miss Aleper Pamela together with Miss Tourism Uganda, Sonia Komugisha and Miss Tourism Karamoja 2019 Solome Adome.
This is the first time that the Miss African Golden Organization is officially visiting the country and this follow the third Miss Africa Golden coronation where Aleper Pamela was crowned the golden queen of the continent in October 2020 making her the first Ugandan to hold the prestigious title.
Miss Africa Golden international is an inclusive,global pageant organization created to empower young women of Africa Descent regardless of race. The pageant also looks to promote originality, culture and Tourism on the continent. Over the past years,the pageant has fast risen to become Africa’s pride in beauty and pageantry.Last year they registered participants from over 15 countries including; Uganda, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ghana and Botswana and for the first time the crown was awarded to Pamela succeeding Morroco’s Amanda Akunne.
Miss Pamela has since used her title to launch an anti-children trafficking campaign in the country with emphasis on her home region on Karamoja. She now hosts her Nigerian counterparts amplify her works in the country and add some spice to the modeling and pageantry industry in the region
During their week long stay in the country they will be involved in a series of activities themed “Transforming Pageantry and Modeling Industry in Africa”. This will be spearheaded by catwalk instructor Toni Olamide who has overtime gathered a lot of experience in the modeling industry and is the first catwalk instructor to ever be featured on Walk Magazine New York. The activities will mostly be concentrated in Kampala but will also visit Jinja City for an upcountry tour and a menstrual hygiene campaign where they will donate sanitary towels to girls and mothers.
