The Education minister Janet Museveni has justified her decision to release Primary Leaving Exams (PLE) results from Kampala Parents’ school and not the Office of the President as has been the practice.
Ms Museveni will tomorrow (January 17, 2019) release last year’s PLE results at 11 am, according to a communication from her office.

Appearing before the Education committee on Thursday, Budiope West MP Robert Musoke tasked the First Lady to explain what prompted her ministry to opt for a private school to host the event.

In her response, Ms Museveni said they opted for the school, owned by businessman Sudhir Ruparelia because the air conditioning system in the hall which has been hosting the event at the office of the president had issues.

She also said the school management had offered them the facility free of charge.
“We normally use the hall at the Office of the President because we are strictly not willing to pay for halls when we have government facilities. But it has been having problems with its air conditioning and you don’t put people in areas with no fresh air. We don’t want to get problems for people,” said Ms Museveni.

Over 600,000 pupils sat for the 2019 Primary Leaving examinations.
This will be the first batch of the 2019 national exams to be released by the Uganda National exams Board (UNEB).
