The FIFA U17 Women’s world cup was initially scheduled for this year in November but due to the outbreak of the Corona virus pandemic, FIFA decided to postpone the tournament to next year. However, due to the Communication from hosts India that they won’t be able to stage the competition due to the pandemic, FIFA has decided to the tournament.

FIFA also indicated that the U20 and U17 Women’s World cup tournaments of 2022 will still be held in Costa Rica & Panama and India respectively as it was meant to be for these cancelled Competitions.

This means Uganda’s hopes of qualifying for the first ever Women’s World cup will have to wait until 2022. Uganda would have qualified for it’s first tournament of this kind had they had an aggregate edge I’ve final opponent Cameroon but this kind of news means they will have to get another qualification process.
