The ministry of Agriculture, Animal husbandry and Fisheries through National Agricultural Advisory Services [NAADS], is to implement a new policy where the farmers who are benefiting from NAADS Program are to contribute some subsidies and these will promote the farmers to own the inputs which are given freely by the Government.
That these will be done in a faced manner where the farmers will be contributing 33% of the selected valve inputs and the government will contribute 67% for the first season and when it comes to the second season then the farmer will contribute 50% likewise the government.
Here the ministry of Agriculture is looking at two things and these are; sustainability and interests of the farmers to own the valve selected input in order to solve the problem of disowning the inputs.
These was Disclosed by the Officer in-charge marketing and research in the ministry of Agriculture, Obbo JAMES Patrick, during NAADS Zonal Review and planning meeting under the theme; Agro- industrialization for Job creation and increased household income which was held at DOM ROYAL hotel in Busia municipality
