Eddy Kenzo was yesterday recognized as the ‘Best Entertainer of the Year’ at the 5th Africa Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA). The award ceremony was held at the Jim Wise Theater, Newark, New Jersey, USA.
The 2019 nominations list was released a couple of months back and it comprised 8 Ugandans; Eddy Kenzo, Spice Diana, Jose Chameleone, Sheebah, Cindy, Rema, Beenie Gunter, and Anita Fabiola.
On the award night last night, Eddy Kenzo beat off competition from Mr Flavour, Diamond Platnumz, Davido, Wizkid, Shatta Wale, Yemi Alade, Stonebwoy, Tiwa Savage, and Tekno to be named the AEAUSA Best Entertainer of the Year.
“I dedicate this award to all my fans, to all my people who know the struggle. My name is Eddie Kenzo a very strong boy, street kid and ghetto man but working hard to make a big impression. I dedicate this to all East African people, thank you so much for the support,” said Eddy Kenzo in his acceptance speech.
The African Entertainment Awards, USA (AEAUSA) have honored Africans’ excellence since 2015. The AEAUSA not only presents over 30 awards during the two-day event but is also the only award giving body to honor practitioners across all crafts and industry sectors, including entertainment, entrepreneurship and community leadership.
Kenzo is currently facing a lot of relationship-related trouble but continues lifting the country’s flag high. Congratulations Eddy Kenzo.
