The Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng has called on all parents in Uganda to embrace the ongoing Measles-Rubella, Polio immunization campaign. This, she says, will prevent the children from the effects of the killer diseases.
Dr. Ruth Aceng was speaking at a dinner to mark the World Polio Day organized by the Rotary Club of Muyenga Tankhill last evening. The minister says it is in the best interest of the children, their families, and the nation if they are immunized.
She commended Rotary International for building awareness and advocacy towards eradication of Polio worldwide through their ‘End Polio Now’ initiative. She also expressed concern over the mushrooming religious sects in the country misleading their followers into resisting health initiatives on account of contradicting their beliefs.
