A Police Officer in Jinja was this morning murdered in cold blood. The murder was allegedly committed by a suspect he had arrested.
George Tanga was deployed at the Jinja Taxi Park on Napier Road. In the wee hours of the morning, he found a man in possession of tent poles that he couldn’t account for at that time. Tanga arrested him and marched him to the Taxi Park police post.
The story between Tanga making an arrest and when he was allegedly slain by his suspect-in-custody is still sketchy. How the suspect secured the killer panga is still unexplainable; wasn’t the suspect handcuffed? Where were the other police officers? We are waiting for official communication from the Kiira Region Police mouthpiece, Diana Nandawula.
The deceased’s lifeless body was taken to Jinja Regional Referral Hospital as investigations commenced.
