As the rainy season commences, members of the public have been urged to plant early maturing crops to avoid food insecurity.

In an interview with Faridah Namulondo the Agricultural officer (omulimisa) Waitambogwe sub county in Mayuge district says since the demise of sugarcane growing now it is the right time to adjust and try growing other crops like indigenous crops to help elevate the poverty levels in the region and also improve on food security
