The elderly in Busembatya Town council, Bugweri district are all smiles after receiving 150,000/= each social Assistance grant for empowerment (SAGE) money for the months of January to June.

However, some of the elderly persons missed out on SAGE money for lack of national identity cards.
SAGE is part of the social protection programme implemented by government under the ministry of Gender labour and social development.
According to the programme guidelines for one to benefit from the SAGE fund, he or she must be 80 years and above to qualify for 25,000/- per month.
